National contest to boost general AI

The country has launched a national contest to help develop general artificial intelligence. The "AI+Metaverse" Track of the 2025 national general artificial intelligence innovation application competition was held recently in Hefei, capital of Anhui province, to help build the city into an AI and metaverse innovation highland. Hosted by China Computer Federation and the Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology, it was organized by Hefei Science and Technology Bureau, Administrative Committee of Anhui Hefei Xinzhan Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Hefei Oriental Innovatech Technology Co Ltd. Besides cash awards, the winners can enjoy local policy and cash benefits once settled in Anhui.

Wind power capacity tops 100m kW

Wind power installed capacity in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached 100.33 million kilowatts as of the end of November, making it the first provincial-level region in the country to exceed 100 million kW in wind power capacity. According to the regional energy administration, the total installed capacity of new energy in Inner Mongolia hit 154 million kW, maintaining its position as a national leader. From January to November, new energy generation reached 250 billion kilowatt-hours, a 33 percent year-on-year increase. A total of 87 billion kWh of new energy was transmitted to other regions, up 46 percent.
