Beijing police have recently dismantled multiple gangs that allegedly produced, assembled, and sold counterfeit audio equipment bearing a well-known brand, seizing a large number of fake speakers, headphones, and related components, and detaining more than 30 suspects. The Beijing Public Security Bureau announced the case on Thursday, noting that it was resolved by the police in Haidian district and that further investigation is underway.

According to the bureau, the gangs allegedly purchased components such as tuning panels, circuit boards, and speaker cabinets from various sources and organized workers to illegally assemble counterfeit branded audio systems. These were sold to online stores at prices ranging from 800 yuan ($116) to 3,000 yuan per unit. The online stores then forged brand authorization documents and business licenses before reselling the products to consumers at marked-up prices for illegal profits, the bureau said.

It added that in addition to the capture of the suspects, police also cracked down on 29 illegal manufacturing sites and shut down 39 online stores involved in selling counterfeit goods during the operation.
