The modern flower industrial park in Lijiang, Yunnan province, has made impressive progress in breeding since last March.

Over the past year, the park has collaborated with the Flower Research Institute of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences to address breeding challenges. As a result, they have developed 111 varieties, 11 of which have become registered, and cultivated six domestic varieties on a large scale, achieving a daily production of 3,000 stems, according to Yunnan Daily.

The park has also blended flower cultivation with the tourism industry, featuring 830,000 flowers spanning 10 categories and 223 varieties, which provide impressive views and year-round blossoms. Activities like educational tours, auctions, coffee experiences, and travel photography have found an audience.

Additionally, the park exported approximately 3.97 million stems of fresh-cut flowers in 2025, achieving sales exceeding 6.9 million yuan (about $1 million). Shipments were sent to 10 countries, including Russia and South Korea, according to local authorities.
