Political advisers called to raise proposals reflecting the will of people
China's top political adviser Wang Yang on Tuesday called on political advisers to spend more efforts on raising proposals that better reflect the will of the people, promote scientific decision-making, and build broad consensus.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, made the remarks at a meeting in Beijing.
The meeting was held to honour national political advisers who raised 248 pieces of outstanding proposals to the 13th CPPCC National Committee and 46 outstanding departments handling proposals.
Wang said that the proposal work is a basic work of the advisory body and an important way for the CPPCC to fulfill its duty.
Since the inception of the 13th CPPCC National Committee in 2018, efforts have been made to continue to improve the quality and efficiency of its proposal work, making positive contributions to the cause of the Party and the country, he said.
