Police arrest man on suspicion of raping 13-year-old girl in Hunan

A man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in Hunan province has been arrested, according to local police. An investigation began after police in Xinhua county, Hunan, received a report about the rape on Aug 5, said a statement issued by the county's public security bureau on Tuesday.
The victim gave birth to a baby girl on Aug 8. Four days later, a man surnamed Zou was arrested on suspicion of committing the rape.
Police said he confessed to the crime, and they were able to confirm Zou's involvement through a DNA test. Further investigation is underway, the statement said.
The police are urging the public to refrain from sharing information that might reveal the victim's identity, in order to protect her privacy.
