Mainland welcomes Taiwan performers for Spring Festival shows: Official

BEIJING -- A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday welcomed Taiwan artists to participate in the diverse performances held across the mainland during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing.
Noting that people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are members of the same family, Zhu said audiences are looking forward to the performance of artists from across the Strait.
Spring Festival, or the Chinse Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional Chinese festival of family reunions. It falls on Feb 1 this year.
