US President Barack Obama with his two daughters, and thronged by reporters, visited a bookstore in Washington nearly a year ago where he bought 21 books, some for his daughters and some for himself. Among them were The Kite Runner, The Ballad of the Sad Café and Red Sparrow. The last was about a CIA spy in Russia and attracted much media attention and speculation. Each book Obama bought would immediately become a best-seller.
