Guangdong provincial authorities have also urged relevant departments to take effective measures to prevent possible landslide and flooding.
Major cities in Pearl River delta region, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Huizhou, Dongguan, will be struck by the storms caused by Nida starting Tuesday.
But the heavy rainfall will help ease the heat wave which has struck the province for weeks.
