The third-phase vehicle and engine plant of Shanghai GM (Shenyang) Norsom Motors, based in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, has begun pilot production, the local government said.
The project is set to be formally put into production in the first half of 2014.
The Phase III project, with an annual output of 300,000 cars and 450,000 engines, will be a green plant, including a body shop, paint shop, assembly workshop, power assembly workshop and body distribution center.
