A task force has been formed to investigate a case in Huanggang, Hubei province, involving a baby born with a spine malformation that wasn't detected during prenatal exams, according to a notice released by the local health commission on Thursday.

According to previous reports, the screening was performed at Huanggang Maternal and Child Health Hospital. The infant's congenital spine malformation was diagnosed after birth.

The team is composed of the city's commissions for discipline inspection and supervision, the health commission, and other departments. The results will be released in a timely manner, the notice said.
