Is dependence on the US safer and dependence on China a risk? "I think it is no good if you are completely dependent on someone, whoever it is," said Wolfgang Schussel, former Austrian chancellor. "We don't have an interest in Europe being smashed between the two superpowers of America and China. We will have our own role to play," he said.
