In China, osmanthus has long been a part of Mid-Autumn traditions. Naturally blooming in the eighth lunar month in the Chinese calendar, osmanthus coincides with the festival. In ancient times, people hosted osmanthus banquets featuring infused cakes and wine during moon worship to express their wishes. Today, treats like osmanthus sugar lotus root and osmanthus wine fermented rice balls continue the enduring tradition.
