Two people were killed and three more were seriously injured in?a beer festival?stage truss collapse accident on Friday night in Mianzhu city of Sichuan province, local emergency management authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 9:50 pm when a temporary stage truss at a beer festival collapsed amid strong convective weather, resulting in multiple injuries, according to a statement released by Mianzhu's emergency management bureau on Saturday.

Following the incident, relevant authorities immediately mobilized emergency response teams to carry out rescue operations. Two people died despite full-scale rescue efforts, while the three injured people are currently in stable condition, according to the statement.

Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
