Yuan strengthens against greenback

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 6 pips to 7.2008 against the US dollar on Tuesday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

Chinese mainland shares close higher

Chinese mainland shares closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.13 percent to 3316.11 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.84 percent higher at 10082.34 points.
