Famous romance novelist Chiung Yao passed away on Wednesday, according to media reports.
Chiung Yao, or Qiong Yao, is the pen name of Chen Che who was born in 1938 and lived in Taiwan.
She was highly regarded as the most popular romance novelist in the Chinese-speaking world and her novels have been adapted into more than 100 films and TV series.
