Rescue underway after trapped miners located
Seven miners trapped in a coal mine in Tai'an city, Shandong province were located underground on Tuesday, and, as of Tuesday afternoon, five had been taken to the surface.
The five were transported to a hospital for medical treatment and were said to have been in stable condition.
A sixth miner was being taken to the surface and the last one was waiting to be taken out, according to the Xinhua News Agency.
The miners were trapped after an incident on Saturday at around 5 pm when water flooded the Huafeng coal mine in Ningyang county, trapping eight of the 10 people working underground at the time.
By 4 am on Monday, rescuers had largely drained a flooded passageway and found one of the eight missing miners, who was confirmed to have no vital signs.
