An English edition of the first two volumes of Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping has been published by Foreign Languages Press and distributed at home and abroad.

The two volumes consist of 146 items from important works by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, from November 2012 to October 2022, including speeches, instructions and directives.

They record the historical process of the CPC Central Committee, with Xi at the core, uniting and leading the entire Party and people of all ethnic groups across the country in ushering in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

In a scientific way, the books summarize the experiences of the Party in theoretical innovation during the process of leading the people in completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and forging ahead on the new journey of advancing national rejuvenation through the Chinese path to modernization.

The English edition of the two volumes will help foreign readers learn about Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in a systematic way, Xinhua News Agency reported.

It also bears great significance for enhancing the international community's knowledge and understanding of Chinese modernization and modern Chinese civilization.
