Jinan, Zhengzhou railway reaches completion
A high-speed railway with the designed speed of 350 km/h linking Eastern and Central China opened on Friday, reducing travel time between Jinan and Zhengzhou, the capital cities of Shandong and Henan province, according to the China State Railway Group, the national railway operator.
The last section of the railway linking Jinan in Shandong and Puyang in Henan opened on Friday, marking the full completion of the railway connecting Jinan and Zhengzhou.
The 407 kilometer-Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway, with a design speed of 350 km/h, reduces travel time between the two capitals to 103 minutes.
It is also the first high-speed railway linking Liaocheng, a city in Shandong with abundant historic and cultural resources, to other cities.
The section between Puyang and Zhengzhou opened commercially in June, last year.
The Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway, linking Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, is expected to be an important connection line of the national railway network.
After the line's opening, it aims to improve the regional railway network and facilitate the travel of people along the line, promoting the high-quality development of regional economy and society.
