People to get easier access to administrative reviews
People will be given easier access to apply for reconsideration of administrative acts they believe are wrong from next year.
The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, adopted an amendment to the Law on Administrative Reconsideration when it closed a session on Friday.
The revised law, which will take effect from Jan 1, 2024, expands the scope of administrative reconsideration.
Administrative reconsideration, an important legal means to resolve disputes between residents and administrative bodies, aims to protect the legitimate rights of people, enterprises and organizations by stopping, correcting and preventing administrative misconduct, according to the legislature.
Amending the law will also advance the building of law-based governance and promote justice and equity in society, it said.
