UNGA president praises China's work on climate
Csaba Korosi, president of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, visited the China Meteorological Administration in Beijing on Friday and expressed appreciation for China's efforts in responding to climate change.
He said he hoped the administration will continue to participate in multilateral cooperation under the UN framework and make a greater contribution to global sustainable development.
Fengyun meteorological satellites have provided monitoring and emergency response services to 126 countries and territories, and CMACast, which provides meteorological data via satellite, has covered the Asia-Pacific region and most parts of Africa.
Korosi is in China from Wednesday to Saturday at the invitation of Foreign Minister Qin Gang.
