Beijing sees no let up in community cases
Beijing continued to report COVID-19 cases at the community level on Thursday and the number of high and medium risk areas keeps growing in the capital, Beijing Daily said on Friday morning.
Beijing recorded 32 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and six asymptomatic carriers on Thursday, among whom six were detected at the community level, as per the official data.
According to the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control on Thursday night, Beijing reported three infection clusters involving 38 cases in total in three districts - Chaoyang, Changping and Haidian.
Districts such as Tongzhou, Daxing, Pinggu all have high-risk areas at present.
The previous report said the new cases from the community level indicate that hidden transmission risks still exist in the city.
The authority will strengthen the control and management of people and places with infection risks, as well as provide supplies and services for those quarantined at home or in centralized locations.
Nationwide, the mainland reported 704 locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,167 new local asymptomatic infections on Thursday, the National Health Commission said on Friday.
