Social groups step up to help with COVID outbreaks
Social organizations have recently been mobilized to help contain COVID-19 outbreaks in some parts of the country.
The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation has been providing epidemic control services, including environmental disinfection and psychological counseling, since March 11.
Help is being provided in the provinces of Jilin, Shaanxi, Shandong and Hebei, as well as in Tianjin.
A total of 902,000 disposable medical surgical masks, 88,000 N95 masks and more than 28,000 protective gowns have been sent to volunteers and residents.
Meanwhile, the foundation also provided 474 sets of disinfection devices, 16.9 metric tons of disinfection fluid and epidemic control equipment, and has helped local government, medical staff and community workers distribute supplies and carry out nucleic acid tests.
