BEIJING -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Wang Huning Wednesday called for solid publicity work for the Party's 20th national congress, which will convene in the second half of this year.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting attended by the country's publicity officials.

The publicity work of 2022 should center on the 20th CPC National Congress, Wang said, urging efforts to deepen the study of the Party's history to create a sound atmosphere for the congress, and provide more high-quality cultural products and services to the people.

He also called for innovation in international communication and strengthened Party leadership over the publicity work.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting and made work plans.
