No one is allowed to enter or leave Ruili, Yunnan province, without necessary reasons starting 8 am on Monday after the city reported three new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

Two of the three patients are Chinese and another is Burmese. All are men. None of them is in serious condition. They were found positive for the coronavirus in citywide nucleic acid testing, according to local authorities. They were sent to a designated hospital for treatment. Further epidemiological surveys are underway.

A new round of nucleic acid testing will be conducted from Monday morning to Tuesday in urban areas of Ruili and its Wanding town.

Those who work or live in Ruili can enter the city with their valid certificate. Those who have to leave the city need to get approval from the local epidemic prevention and control department and a negative result for the virus within three days. The Jiegao Bridge which leads to the Jiegao port that borders Myanmar is closed.
