Locally-transmitted case found in Dongguan of Guangdong
China reported a locally-transmitted COVID-19 patient in Dongguan, Guangdong province, on Friday. The 30-year-old woman living in Baiyueshangcheng community in Nancheng subdistrict began feeling feverish on Thursday and tested positive for coronavirus at a fever clinic early on Friday, said Li Jun, deputy mayor of Dongguan, at a news conference on Friday night.
The patient is being treated at a hospital and is in stable condition. Those who came in close contact with her are under quarantine at designated places. Her community, work place and the places she recently went to have been placed under closed management.
All residents in townships and subdistricts of Guancheng, Dongcheng, Wanjiang, Nancheng and Machong will take nucleic acid tests by 9 am on Saturday, Li said. The townships and subdistricts of Dongcheng, Wanjiang, Nancheng and Machong have stopped vehicle movement into the highway from 7:30 pm on Friday, said Li Zhuohua, deputy director of the public security bureau of Dongguan.
