Senior energy official removed from post following probe

BEIJING - The State Council, China's cabinet, announced on Thursday that Liu Baohua has been removed from his post as the deputy head of the National Energy Administration.
The Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission said in October that Liu was being investigated for suspected serious violations of discipline and law.
