BoCom revenue up in first 9 months

Bank of Communications saw narrowing profit decline and growing revenue in the first three quarters of the year as the country's economy recovered and consumption rebounded. The bank's net profit for the January-September period totaled 52.71 billion yuan ($7.84 billion), down 12.36 percent year-on-year, narrowing from the 14.61-percent decline in the first half, the bank said in a report. Its revenue rose 5.16 percent year-on-year to 185.39 billion yuan in the first nine months.

Biotech firm posts 901.7% rise in profit

Chinese biotech company BGI Genomics Co Ltd registered robust growth in its revenue and profits in the first three quarters on the back of rocketing demand for diagnostic kits. The company reported 2.71 billion yuan ($403 million) in net profit in the first nine months, soaring 901.68 percent year-on-year.
