Chen Tong elected vice mayor of Shanghai

Chen Tong, former director of intangible cultural heritage at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was elected vice mayor of Shanghai, the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress said on Tuesday.
Chen was born in October 1972 and is from Pingchang county, Bazhong city, Southwest China's Sichuan province. Chen is a member of the Communist Party of China and holds a master's degree in history.
He previously worked at the former ministry of culture, which became part of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2018, the Qinghai Provincial Cultural and News Publication Bureau, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
