Landslides resulting from the rain blocked some highways in the municipality, which rests in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
At 7:45 am on Thursday, the Bureau of Hydrology of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission issued a blue alert for flooding in the Wujiang River, the Three Gorges reservoir area and Chenglingji River.
The commission is a river basin authority dispatched by the Ministry of Water Resources to water in the Yangtze River Basin and other basins of southwestern China.
