Battery makers report lower revenue
Leading battery manufacturers have reported lower revenue and profit during the first four months of this year, official data showed. Revenues of major battery companies shrank 13.5 percent on a yearly basis to 190.61 billion yuan ($27 billion) during the period, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Profits of major battery makers dropped by 19.5 percent to 5.21 billion yuan from a year earlier.
Guangzhou foreign trade crosses $141b
Guangzhou's total imports and exports surpassed 1 trillion yuan ($141.42 billion) in 2019, according to local authorities in the capital of South China's Guangdong province. The city's imports reached 474.08 billion yuan in 2019, up 12.8 percent on a yearly basis, while its foreign trade with the European Union and Japan maintained double-digit growth.
