Jilin coronavirus patient released after recovery
The first patient infected with novel coronavirus in Northeast China's Jilin province has recovered and was discharged from a hospital in Changchun on Thursday, according to the province's health commission.
The female patient was hospitalized on Jan 19, when she had serious inflammation in her lungs after returning from Wuhan, Hubei province, the epicenter of the outbreak. She was then diagnosed with a severe case of the novel coronavirus.
After medical treatment, the patient's health condition has improved, with no fever symptoms and her inflammation has been largely reduced.
According to the Changchun Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the patient tested negative for the novel coronavirus three consecutive times over the past three days, and was allowed to go home according to the newest medical standards.
As of Friday at noon, Jilin province had 14 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus, including one severe case.
