BEIJING - Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Vladimir Norov announced in a statement Monday that the SCO member states oppose external forces interfering in Hong Kong affairs.
The SCO firmly supports and safeguards the authority of international laws, and advocates adherence to the UN Charter, especially the principles of non-interference in internal affairs, mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the protection of the interests of all countries.
The SCO calls on external forces to abandon any actions that may lead to the deterioration of the situation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and to stop creating obstacles to the restoration of order and stability in the region.
