Fair, objective investigation of attack needed
President Xi Jinping called for a comprehensive, objective and fair investigation into the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities in a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Friday.
Xi said the incident has had an impact on the situation in the Gulf region and caused major fluctuations in the global energy market after the Saudi king briefed him of the recent attacks.
China condemns the attacks and calls on relevant parties to refrain from actions leading to escalation of tensions in the region and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability, Xi said.
Xi said the China-Saudi Arabia relationship has been growing rapidly in an all-around manner in recent years, and the two countries are comprehensive strategic partners.
