The color screen of my 2003 phone made me feel like I was finally a cool kid. I was now in the rapidly developing country of China, and I had my first color screen.
I felt like I was living on the edge of the future!
My first Chinese girlfriend marked me as her territory to deter other girls by attaching a blue charm to the phone.
Looking back on this phone, I see it as a friend. He was the best for teaching me how pinyin becomes Chinese characters. He was as good as any human teacher!
