A Delta Air Lines flight bound for the United States was suspended as it prepared for takeoff at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Tuesday after another plane encroached on its runway.
The DL582 service to Detroit was taxiing into position when a Japan Airlines B787-900 crossed its path, according to information released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
The CAAC said the incident was being investigated.
A video posted on Sina Weibo by Shanghai's fire department showed fire trucks spraying water on the runway and the Delta plane to prevent overheating.
