Top political advisor stresses full implementation of major policies in Ningxia
YINCHUAN - China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Thursday called for full implementation of major policies issued by the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, to build a new Ningxia where people enjoy economic prosperity, ethnic unity, beautiful environment, and a wealthy life.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks while hearing work reports of the CPC regional committee and regional government of Ningxia.
Leading a central delegation, Wang was in Ningxia for activities marking the 60th anniversary of the region's founding.
On behalf of the CPC Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the CPPCC National Committee, and the Central Military Commission, Wang extended warm congratulations to the autonomous region and expressed greetings to cadres and people from all ethnic groups in Ningxia.
Over the past 60 years of hard work, local people have turned the backward and impoverished Ningxia into a new one that is open, progressive, prosperous and harmonious, Wang said.
Such achievements were made as the autonomous region has been staunchly and resolutely safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee, promoting bold reforms, as well as effectively improving ethnic unity and people's livelihood, he said.
Wang attributed the progress to the firm leadership of the CPC Central Committee, joint efforts by cadres and people of all ethnic groups, and strong supports from people across the nation.
China's ongoing development of its western parts and the Belt and Road construction have brought fresh opportunities to Ningxia, Wang said, urging high-quality development and further efforts to eliminate poverty.
