China's top legislature schedules new session

BEIJING -- China's top legislature will convene a new session from July 9 to 10, according to a statement issued after a chairpersons' meeting Monday.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), presided over the meeting.
Legislators are expected to review a report on the implementation of the air pollution control law, and a draft decision on strengthening the comprehensive protection of the environment and supporting the fight against pollution in accordance with the law, said the statement.
