A man's gift for Mother's Day: His liver

A 29-year-old man and his mother were discharged from Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai on Thursday after he donated half of his liver to save her life.
The mother was suffering from severe cirrhosis, a condition in which the liver does not function properly.
The man, identified as Mr Xie by the Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University in Shanghai, and his mother underwent surgeries for liver transplantation on April 12.
