SHANGHAI - The Shanghai Municipal People's Procuratorate announced Monday that it had initiated a prosecution against Qi Jun, former director of the Shanghai Municipal Work Safety Bureau, on suspicion of accepting bribes and unauthorized partition of State-owned assets.

In April 2017, the city's discipline inspection commission announced that Qi was under investigation for serious violations.

In August 2017, the procuratorate said Qi had been put under "coercive measures" on suspicion of accepting bribes and unauthorized partition of state-owned assets. Coercive measures may include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention or arrest.
