Shanghai has nearly 1,000 skyscrapers: census

SHANGHAI -- Shanghai has 930 high-rise buildings that are higher than 100 meters, according to the city's first geographical census, released Monday.
The census also revealed that Shanghai has 49,492 buildings between 24 and 100 meters high.
Shanghai has China's tallest building, the 632-meter-high Shanghai Tower.
The census, which lasted more than three years, covers information on the city's vegetation, water areas, buildings, railways and roads, according to Wang Xunguo, deputy head of Shanghai urban planning and land resources bureau.
