Mads Nissen, a photographer from Copenhagen, Denmark, won the First Prize in Contemporary Issues, Singles, of the World Press Photo of the Year 2015 with the picture taken on in St. Petersburg, Russia depicting Jon and Alex, a gay couple, during an intimate moment. Life for lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) people is becoming increasingly difficult in Russia.
