Thai cabinet approves emergency in 5 more provinces

BANGKOK - Thai cabinet on Sunday approved to impose emergency law in five provinces in northeast area, which will put 22 provinces under the law.
Earlier, the protesters' leader called for talks with the government under the United Nations mediation. But there were no immediate response from the government.
Sunday afternoon, the government announced to abandon a planned curfew in Bangkok area as there were no immediate necessary.
