4 killed in suicide bombing in S. Afghanistan

A suicide bomber blew himself up in Kandahar city, capital of Taliban birthplace Kandahar province, Thursday night, killing four including himself and injuring 13 others, a police officer at the site said.
"A suicide attacker attempted to drive his car to main road in the fifth district of the city but his explosive device exploded prematurely killing three civilians and injuring 13 others," Mohammad Shah Khan, the police officer, told Xinhua.
He said that the attacker was also killed in the incident. The area was cordoned off by the police and no journalist were allowed in. Kandahar, branded as the Taliban hotbed, has seen increasing violence recently.
