The Global World City Conference opened at Beijing Conference Center on Sept 18. The event is a comprehensive academic conference of academic elites, business leaders, and senior officials.

The topic of the conference is "innovation-driven development promotes World City construction." The attendees will discuss the three features - humanistic, high-tech and green - of Beijing's World City construction from the three perspectives of intellectual capital, creative industry and innovation model.

Officers from international organizations, including World Intellectual Property Organization and European Union, are attending the conference. Dimiter Gantchev, head of Creative Industries at WIPO, and other experts from Europe and Australia gave keynote speeches on Intellectual Property, Creative Industries and the Global Economy.

The conference will last two days.
