People know Luo Hong not only as the president of Holiland—the giant chain of bakeries in China—but he is also known as a photographer and an advocate of international environmental protection.

He took photography in Western China for ten years. He has been to Africa 26 times.

In October 20,2006, Luo Hong donated 2 million Yuan to the United Nations, of which 1 million was used for the Beijing Olympic Green. Another 1 million Yuan was used for environmental governance in Kenya.

In November 6,2006, Luo Hong funded "Luo Hong Environmental Protection Funding" under the United Nations Environment Program. It was the first personal funding aimed at environmental protection in the history of the United Nations.
