The 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland have reported 4.7 smoggy days on average per month so far this year, the highest number in 52 years, a meteorologist with the China Meteorological Administration said on Friday.
Of the 31 regions, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Anhui, Hunan, Hubei, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces, as well as Tianjin and Chongqing municipality, reported the highest number of smoggy days in their history.
