The Chengdu Microfilm Festival, the first festival of its kind in Sichuan province, was launched in Xindu district.

This festival, sponsored by the Chengdu Association for Cultural Exchanges with Foreign Countries and the Chengdu Microfilm Association, offers cinemagoers a myriad of online microfilms.

According to festival organizers, a panel of judges will choose 12 individual awards in four categories including the best microfilm of the year based on creativity, artistic value and online clicking rate. The event ends in September.
