The Site of Xanadu officially opened to visitors on July 15. Twenty kilometers northeast of Shangdu County in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Site of Xanadu has a history of more than 740 years. On January 2011, the State Council approved to apply to include the Site of Xanadu as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012.[Photo/Xinhua] |
