Trip to Mars lures applicants

A project that includes a one-way trip to Mars has attracted at least 450 Chinese applicants. Mars One, a Dutch company, plans to take humans to Mars in 2023, but they will not return to Earth.

據(jù)《中國日報》報道，荷蘭"火星一號"近日宣布將在2023年啟動火星單程之旅，他們將"只去不回"。

The project drew more than 37,000 applicants from all over the world. Wang Wenming, one of the Chinese applicants, a geology engineer from Kunming, said he is not afraid of the no-return trip. "I think the project is worth dying for. I'm serious about this, or I wouldn't try so hard to improve my English," he added.

在他們目前收到的全球3.7萬多個報名意向中，中國人竟然達到450多名。申請者之一、來自昆明的地質(zhì)工程師王文明說："我不怕回不來，為這一項目即使犧牲了也是值得的。我說真的，要不我不會這么努力在學英文。"
