SEOUL, South Korea?- South Korean prosecutors have indicted 12 people for their alleged involvement in a match-fixing scandal, according to a local news report.

Yonhap news agency said nine K-League players were indicted Thursday for allegedly taking bribes to influence the outcome of games.

Another player was indicted for allegedly betting on one of his own team's games after learning the outcome would be rigged, and two non-players were indicted for allegedly handing bribes to players through now-detained gambling brokers.

Yonhap cited a prosecution office in the southeastern city of Changwon, but officials there couldn't immediately confirm the report.

A former K-League player was found dead in an apparent suicide last week linked to the scandal.
